Parking is a Bit of a Challenge

You can park your car for free right by the beach. However it is often quite crowded, and you then have to stand along the path higher up. Consider it a bonus walk to stretch your legs before hitting the sand.

The Beauty of Black Sand

The beach itself is stunning. The black sand is perfect for Instagram shots. Sunsets here are beautiful if there is a clear sky. Watching the sun dip below the horizon here is nothing short of magical. Seriously, bring your camera!

For the Kids and the Adventurous

The beach is more suitable for older children for swimming. There are STRONG CURRENTS! Younger children can watch the giant waves or play in the sand. With the low tide the beach grow.

Grab a Bite and Freshen Up

There is a small kiosk if you are hungry and there are also toilets and showers. So you can easily spend half a day here, especially if you want to try bodyboarding. But there is no rental office here.

If you continue on the main road to the West, there is a petrol station with a coffeeshop – Cafetería El Mirador. The food was good and the view is worth it.

Accessibility and Safety

For those who need it, there’s wheelchair access to the beach. A lifeguard is on duty from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. So, you can relax a bit knowing there’s someone keeping an eye on things.
