Ah, Santa Ursula, the charming suburb of Puerto de la Cruz! If you’re driving around and feel the need for a quick, delightful detour, this is the place to be.
The star attraction here? A stunning statue we affectionately call Mother Nature, but known officially as La Giganta. Trust me, it’s worth the stop.

The Park in Santa Ursula: A Quick Escape
Now, if you’re looking for a spot to relax and recharge, the park in Santa Ursula is just the ticket. We found parking right next to it without any hassle – a rare and wonderful thing. This park boasts a unique and gorgeous statue that’s covered in flowers. Depending on the season, it looks completely different, offering a new surprise each time you visit.
La Giganta: The Floral Wonder
Let’s talk about La Giganta. This isn’t just any statue. It’s a beautiful, flower-adorned giantess that seems to change with the seasons. When we visited in spring, she was decked out in a vibrant array of blooms that made her look like a living, breathing part of the landscape. It’s like she’s dressed by Mother Nature herself!
Fun for the Kids
The park is not just there for us adults to marvel at the statue. There is a loan where children can play and burn off their energy. Our little ones had a blast jumping around and exploring. As a parent, you know how priceless it is. Finding a place where the kids can play safely without screaming Mom, Dad!
One of the coolest things about La Giganta is that you can actually climb to the top. Ok, it is not really climbing, because there are stairs. But the view from up there is nice. We got some great photos that look like we are climbing a mountain in bloom.
It is a perfect rest stop on the way. Just keep in mind that there aren’t many trees to provide you a shade. So on a sunny day, it could be very hot.
